In the year 60 AD a big storm hit the Maltese Islands this brought in and shipwrecked a galley with 47 persons aboard, in one of the beautiful bays of Malta. Among the crew, there was the Apostle Paul.
During the tour, the guide will first take you to Rabat, where you will visit St. Paul’s Grotto where the Apostle Paul lived for three months. A walk through the narrow winding streets of Rabat would give a taste of the early medieval architecture.
You will then visit St. Paul’s Cathedral in Mdina, where you can enjoy the splendour of the artistic works inside the temple and follow the history of the role of St. Publius as the first bishop ordained by the Apostle Paul.
Finally, the bus will drive to St. Paul’s Bay where the shipwreck occurred in 60 AD. An interesting walk on the garigue will bring you closer to the historical events in the early Christian era after the apostle Paul. It is highly recommended to wear good walking shoes.
Free time for lunch will be given at around 1300 hrs.
